Skin Care

What is Skin Care ?

The skin is the largest organ of the body and yet most of us don’t do enough to maintain our skin’s health One of your skin’s function is to eliminate a portion of  the body’s waste products through sweating. If toxins escape through the skin they disrupt the skin’s health integrity. This is one of the key factors behind man skin disorders including Acne and possible Eczema and Psoriasis.

Skin Care
 Acne

Acne is the most common disease in the world affecting more than 90 percent of adolescents but also a large number of people in their 40s and 50s.

A type of laser treatment has been hailed as the biggest step forward in acne treatment for 30 yrs . It works by heating small blood vessels to provoke a natural healing response and collagen production.

 Pigmentation & Melasama

Chemicals must be avoided for pigmentation.

Melasma is a common acquired increase of  brown pigmentation (melanin) that occurs exclusively in sun-exposed areas. Melasma is after present on the cheeks, upper lips and forehead and sometimes occur on the forearms.

Melasma has been very difficult to treat, and even harder to cure. Treatment regimens include the use of a sunscreen with a minimum of SPF 40, bleaching agents such as hydroquinone (2-4%), retinoide such as Retina A and a prescription product named Tri Luma but medication must be taken under the supervision of a dermatologist. For Dermal melasma, which is a very common variety, topical treatments are generally ineffective.   Lasers are the unique approach in treating melasma.

Wart / Mole / Scar Removal

Moles most frequently develop in young adults until about the age of 40.

Removing the mole is quite a simple & quick process.

The skin is first anesthetic with local anesthetic cream. Once the area is numb the mole is simply shaved away until it is flush with the skin. The Laser seals off the blood vessels as it shaves away the mole so there is no bleeding & because the skin is not cut there is no suturing required.

Genetic factors, sun damage, hormonal factors and trauma may result in a veriety of pigment problem e.g. . Freckles , flat moles and melasma. Treatments include, chemical peels, laser treatments, and is some cases excision of a pigmented spot is required.

Skin Care By Radiofrequency

Non ablative radiofrequency is a safe and effective method to achieve tissue tightening of the face to correct excessive sagging from photoageing. The method is based on the ability of radiowaves of  certain frequency to penetrate and be absorbed by body tissues. The absorption of radiowaves cause tissue heating as well as some structural molecular changes.
